Kyo Sukashi tsuba. C. Early Edo ( 江戸初期 Shoki Edo ) period. Tsuchime ji 槌目地, kaku mimi ko niku 角耳小肉 and ryohitsu shitate 両櫃仕立. This tsuba's theme depicts Kumonosu no Zugara 蜘蛛の巣の図柄 or a spiders web. Beautiful iron, very well formed, an elegant design and superbly carved.
